Gambier Island

Horseshoe Bay is located half an hour from downtown Vancouver on the Trans Canada Highway. Parking is available in the village. Sewell’s marina rents boats for approx. $40/hour, so a days’ rental is affordable if shared with a small group. once on the water, Gambier island is approximately half an hour away.
An alternative to public transport for people who do not have cars is becoming a member of the Cooperative Auto Network. The Co-operative Auto Network (CAN) is a not-for-profit co-operative venture incorporated to foster car sharing as an alternative to the privately owned automobile. We believe CAN is an environmentally responsible and economically sound choice for many people's mobility needs. Through car sharing we aim to improve air quality, reduce stresses on green space and eliminate many non-point sources of pollution.
