Experience life in the 1920s. A traditional BC Electric Railway tram stop village has been created with a combination of heritage and replica buildings on a 10 acre site. Period costumed staff and volunteers welcome visitors and give demonstrations in the homes, businesses and shops. Vancouver's oldest tourist attraction, originally built in 1889, stretches 450 feet (137m) across and 230 feet (70m) above Capilano River. Since then much has been added to the twenty-seven acre park. Of the many things to do, Treetops Adventure is the park's newest attraction - seven suspension bridges through the evergreens taking you up to 100 feet (30m) above the forest floor. The Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden, the first of its kind outside of China, is an authentic representation of an age – old garden tradition which reached its peak in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). The Garden is characteristic of the private spaces within a Ming scholar’s residence. With its asymmetrical arrangement of rocks and plants, its winding paths and corridors, and the vistas that overlook its courtyards, the Garden emulates the rhythms of nature. Hundreds of interactive exhibits in five galleries, live science demonstrations at Centre Stage, high-definition cinema in the Science Theatre and large-format films in the OMNIMAX Theatre will stimulate your scientific curiosity. Discover the science all around you! ONGOING. The Vancouver Aquarium, a non-profit organization, is the largest aquarium in Canada.
